Specials from the KaVo booth
At the south entrance of the IDS, many visitors stand still and looked in the air. There was a white blimp hovering above their heads, advertising for KaVo Kerr in a very unusual way. “Visitors react very positively, they take pictures or even make videos,” said the pilot, who was calmly maneuvering the airship right from the ground.
Bernd Schnakenberg, President of KaVo Kerr Europe, about the IDS:
“At this year’s IDS, KaVo Kerr presented itself as a complete clinical solutions provider. We wanted to underline this message not only with our comprehensive product portfolio but also with a new consistent design approach. The spontaneous, positive customer feedback has confirmed this concept.”
More than 1.000 participants, one happy winner: Dr. Astrid Buschmann from Frankfurt/Main is thrilled about her digital X-ray device KaVo OP 2D – the main price of the big KaVo raffle. To upgrade her practice to an integrated digital workflow, she spontaneously decided to order a KaVo Scan eXam one image plate scanner in addition.
Press conference: To be a bit different…
… was the aim of the KaVo Kerr and Nobel Biocare press event at the IDS 2017. Under the motto “Making Connections”, pokes were handed out to the approximately 100 journalists in attendance from across the world: little white sticks shaped like hands. If two are held up to each other, there is a green glow – and contact details are transmitted. Using the pokes, media representatives were also able to gather information at the touchpoints of the individual booths. Kataryna Widlok from the Polish dental review TPS liked the new concept: “I think it’s very interesting – as it’s really unusual”, said the journalist.
A novel look at caries.
KaVo is releasing a software update with extended product features for the DIAGNOcam caries detection device. Critical for users of the CliniView or VixWin X-ray software, the DIAGNOcam will now be displayed as an integrated option in the existing X-ray software, simplifying the control of the instrument to a significant extent. The user interface of the DIAGNOcam has been completely revamped and now is more intuitive. Images can be recorded and easily saved in the patient database by briefly pressing on the ring of the device. The new recording system shows the user if the DIAGNOcam should be closer to or more distant from the tooth surface for a sharp image. This allows an optimal diagnostic image to be attained in the shortest possible period of time.
Treatment units, individually configurable
KaVo is one of the leading specialists in development and production of dental treatment units to support the dentist during all of his or her treatments. There are many options to choose from, then easily combined via the new KaVo Configurator for treatment units. Dr. Silke Spiller, Ulm/Germany, created her own individual treatment unit, together with Oliver Racine, Director International Product Management. It took only a few clicks to choose the basic configuration, the individual setting of the selected table- or cart-version and the various features of the patient-communication systems.
